Abstract

Bu tezin ana amacı akademik bir disiplin olarak Turkiye arkeolojisinin ortayaçıkışı, gelişimi ve Kemalist milliyetçilikle olan ilişkisini ve yeni bir ulusal kimlikyaratma surecinde arkeolojinin rolünu araştırmak ve tartışmaktır.

Nationalism had a major impact on the development of archaeology as anacademic discipline. The purpose of this study is to explore the elusive connectionbetween Kemalist nationalism and the development of Turkish arcaheology and the rolearchaeology played in the construction and legitimation of Turkish national identity.
