Thesis) Naki ÇOLAK GAZI UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY November, 1996 ABSTRACT In this study, investigation of chemical componets of endemic Verbascum Bornm have been performed. In this plant, use (before and after hydrolysis), tanen (as catecik and total tanen) and essential oil were determined. The structures of isolated flavonid, one of the two saponins and iridoid were investigated by spectral methods such as rH, 13C NMR, FTIR, UV, EIMS.
