Abstract
SUMMARY Alıcı Spinal Instrumentation System was performed in 51 patients with unstable thoracolumbar vertebra fractures between Agust 1990 and December 1993 in Ministry of Health Ankara State Hospital. 37 of the patients who were operated with Alıcı 1, Alıcı 2, Alıcı 3 spinal systems had regular folow up, mean folow up was 14 months, ranging between 3 and 36 months. These patients were evaluated in two groups in whom only transpedicular screws were used and whom transpedicular screws and hook combination were used. Antero-posterior and lateral radiographics were taken pre and postoperatively in all of patients and local kyphotic angle, loss of anterior vertebral height, loss of posterior vertebral height, sagital index, the ratio of translasion were assessed in those graphies. Modified Frankel classification was used in neurologic examination of the patients. Surgical treatment of thoracolumbar vertebral fractures and the results of Alıcı spinal system was discussed with a comparison of literature. 119 SUMMARY Alıcı Spinal Instrumentation System was performed in 51 patients with unstable thoracolumbar vertebra fractures between Agust 1990 and December 1993 in Ministry of Health Ankara State Hospital. 37 of the patients who were operated with Alıcı 1, Alıcı 2, Alıcı 3 spinal systems had regular folow up, mean folow up was 14 months, ranging between 3 and 36 months.
