Abstract
ABSTRACT HF PROPAGATION STUDIES USING PC': HEP8AYDIR, Erol M. S. in El ec t r i cal an d El ec t r o n i es En g. M i ddl e Eas t Techn i cal Un i ver s i ty, An k ar a Su per m i so r s Pr of. The algorithms used in the program are described in related chapters. Outputs of sample runs related to MUF-LUF, sky wave signal, noise level, S/N and g r o u n d w a v e t r a n sm i s s i o n loss calculations are presented. The outputs of MÎNIMUF 3.5 and QLOF are compared with the outputs of some larger HF. prediction programs. It has been shown that these PC HF prediction programs can be used to generate first order MUF-LUF estimates. A sub-program making use of K. Norton's formula was incorporated into the existing HF PC prediction p r o gr am t o ex tend the cap ab i 1 i t i es.
