Abstract

ÖZET METU-PC-NET : PC'LER ÎCÎN BÎR YEREL AG TASARIMI VE UYGULANMASI IRKAD, Ömer Danışman : Prof. Dr. Ziya Aktaş 19B8, 187 sayfa Bu tezde, micro bilgisayarlar için bir yerel ağ tasarımı ve METU PC-NET olarak O.D.T.Ü Bilgisayar Mühendisliği Bölümünde uygulanışı tartışılmaktadır. IBM PC'lerin özelliklerini ve mevcut ağ arabirimlerinin fiatları göz önüne alınarak bir ağ sekli, bu ağ seklini destekleyebilecek bir protokol ve birkaç tümleşik devreden meydana gelen küçük bir devre öner i lmişt ir. Fiziki ara bağlantı olarak RS232 ara bağlantı birimi kulla nılmış ve bu yüzden bu birimin çıkışları üzerinde `bus` bağlantı sekli kurulmuştur. Seçici protokol uygulanmış ve bütün köle PC'lerin kendilerine ait danışman kayıt gelene kadar beklemeleri öngörülmüştür. MASTER PC üzerindeki disk ve yazıcı gibi birimler, kontrol kutusu ile MASTER'e bağla nan tüm köle PC'lerin kullanımına açıktır. Supervisor ı Prof. Dr. Ziya Aktas 1988, 187 pages In this thesis» the design and implementation aspects of a local area network for PCs, ME TU -PC -NEJ » in the department of Computer Engineering at M.E.T.U. are discussed. Consider ing the characteristics of the IJ3M PCs and the cost of the available network adapters, a network topology, a protocol supporting this topology and a very small circuit consist ing of few ICs are proposed. RS23SC Interface adapter is used as the physical interface, and hence, a bus topology has been constructed on the out put lines of the interface. A polling protocol has been implemented that all the SLAVE PCs will wait for their own supervisory record from the MASTER PC. Resources as the printer and the DISK unit of the MASTER PC arm available to all the SLAVE PCs connected to the MASTER via panel box which was designed and implemented during the research.
