Abstract
In Type 11 diabetics at the diIIerent stages of diabeticnephropathy, glomerular charge - selectivity and tubularfunctions were studied with biochemical methods. Accordingly, amylase isoenzymes,S-and P-amylase, were determined in urineand the ratio OI S-amylase I P-amylase was found bothspectrophotometiracally and electrophoretically as a markerIor glomerular charge selectivity. Additionally, Leucineminopeptidase tubular marker.(LAP) activity in urine was measured as aAt the early stages of diabetic nephropathy, both SIPratio and LAP levels tend to increase markedly a nd appears tobe an early marker especially for pre-microalbuminuric stage. In an adition to this, two different methods used for thedetermination of amylase isoenzymes were shown to be in agood agreement with each other.
