Türkiye`nin Avrupa Birliği adaylık statüsünün Kopenhag siyasi kriterleri açısından değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışma Avrupa Birliği Türkiye ilişkilerini Kopenhag siyasi kriterleri bağlamında değerlendirmektedir. Ayrıca araştırma Türkiye'nin Kopenhag siyasi kriterlerine uyumu konusunda demokrasi, insan haklan alanları ile yasama ve hukuki sistemde yapılan değişiklikleri ve değişiklikler temelinde gerçekleştirilen ilerlemeleri ele almakta ve ilişkilerin günümüzde bulunduğu durumu incelemektedir. Bu çerçevede Türkiye'nin Avrupa Birliği'ne üyeliği için müzakerelerin gündeme geldiği dönemde konunun dini özgürlükler ve azınlıkların korunması boyutu da ele alınması gereken bir alandır. Bu tezin bir temel amacı da, Aralık 2004'de yapılacak olan tarihi zirveden önce Türkiye Avrupa Birliği ilişkilerinin genel bir görünümünü sunmaktır.

This study examines the relationship between the European Union and Turkey in the context of the Copenhagen political criteria. This study also will try to analyse the present situation of the relations by way of examining the developments on the basis of the transformation in the field on democracy and human rights, in the legislation and legal system of Turkey as regards the fulfilment of the political criteria. In this framework, the declaration of Turkey's negotation for membership stated a new phase in which the repercussions on the issues of religious freedoms and protection of the minorities acquired increasing significance.
