Abstract
-39- Gradually decreasing glucose values were down to 62.1+2.4, 70. 9+?. 0 mg/100 ml by the end of the sixth month, and the difference between the first day's and sixth month's figures were statisticaly highly significant (P< 0.001).-38- No difference was observed in the monthly w.b.c. counts > of H and B.S. calves. At the end of the sixth month, the 3 3 w.b.c. counts were 10.61+0.38, 10.03+0.95x10 /mm. Hematocrit values of H and B.S. calves in the first day of life were measured as 32.1+1.9, 35.1+1.3 per cent respectively, while at the end of the week, these values were staying at the same level (31.1+1.7,-36.4+1.5 per cent). No difference was observed in the monthly hematocrit values (31.2+0.6 per cent) of H and B.S. calves. By the end of the sixth month, the hematocrit values of H calves were (31.2+0.6 per cent) very close to the first day numbers, while they were decreasing (30.6+1.0 per cent) in B.S. calves. In the first day, hemoglobin concentrations for 100 ml of blood of H were 8.71+0.44 g, and for B.S. calves were 8.86+1.32 g, while at the end of the first week, these values were 8.51+0.41 g, 9.56+0.45 g, varying in a similar fashion with the hematocrit values. No difference was observed between the monthly hemoglobin values of H and B.S. calves. At the end o'f sixth month, the hemoglobin concentrations were 9.20+0.18; 9.38+0.20 g/100 ml respectively. The first day sedimentation rates of H and B.S. calves were found to be 15.1+1.1, 14.2+1.2 mm, and at the end of the first week 18.1+1.0, 14.0+1.1 mm/hr. respectively. No difference was observed in the monthly sedimentation rates. Final sedimentation figures were 18.9+Ü.7, 20.6+0.8 mm/hr. fhe first day blood glucose levels of H and B.S. calves were 125.5+11.1 mg/100 ml; 132.0+9.2 mg/100 ml, and by the end of the week, these values were slightly lower (111.6+5.2, 105.4+5.3 mg/100 ml). At the end of 3rd month these concentrations were decreased down to 78.4+6.7 mg/100 ml, 73.6+5.3 mg/100 ml, and the difference was statisticaly significant (P < 0. 01-0. 05).-39- Gradually decreasing glucose values were down to 62.1+2.4, 70. 9+?. 0 mg/100 ml by the end of the sixth month, and the difference between the first day's and sixth month's figures were statisticaly highly significant (P< 0.001).
