Pragmatik medya felsefesi: Yazılı basında dilin araçsallaştırılması

Abstract

Yaşamın her alanında giderek daha etkili olmaya başlayan kitle iletişim araçlarının bu denli güçlü olmasının en önemli nedenlerinden biri dilin sınırsız gücüne sığınmalarıdır. Dil düşünceyi çağırdığından felsefenin, iletişimin temel dayanak noktası olduğundan kitle iletişim araçlarının vazgeçilmez unsurudur. Dil adeta insanı düşünmeye, konuşmaya, anlamaya teşvik ederek var olma edimini anlamlandırmaya çalışmaktadır. Bu nedenle herkes, her şey dilin dolaysız gücünden sonsuz bir fayda sağlamak istemektedir. Dilin kendiliğinden sahip olduğu bu güç; kültürle, tarihle ve yaşamın diğer alanlarıyla harmanlanarak daha keskin, daha etkin bir zenginlik halini almaktadır. Kullanım şekli ile iyiye de kötüye de hizmet edebilme potansiyelini bünyesinde bulunduran bu zenginlik, her disiplinin öncelikle üzerinde eğildiği bir konudur. Her platformda farklı bir yeri olan dilin anlam ve anlamlandırma süreci ile yakından ilişkili olması, kitle iletişim araçlarının dili kullanma amaçlarını da değiştirebilmektedir. Kitle iletişim araçlarının iktidar ve diğer güç odaklarının baskısı sonucu dili istedikleri amaçlar doğrultusunda kullanabilmeleri toplumsal düzlemde bir takım sorunlar yaratmaktadır. Temelde toplumu haberdar etme güvencesi doğrultusunda işlevselleşen bir yapının dili istediği doğrultuda araçsallaştırması en başta anlamsalın zedelenmesi problemini ortaya çıkarmaktadır.Anahtar Kelimeler: Dil, Medya, Pragmatizm

One of the main reasons behind the augmenting strength of the communication technologies is due to unlimited sheltering potential of the language. Since the language carries out the ideas, and also forms the basis for means of communication it obviously becomes indispensable feature of both philosophy and mass communication devices. Hence, in a pragmatic sense that is why the mankind has started to use the language in order to communicate with others. Via prompting individuals to think, speak and understand, the language could assist them to materialise existing knowledge. That is why everyone and also everything would like to benefit from this direct virtue of the language. This inherent ability of the language becomes more prosper via blending with culture, history and other aspects of daily life itself. Due to its way of use, the language could also become a tool of manipulation as well. In other words, practically speaking, it could both serve for the good also for the bad. Language has a special place in the eyes of different social and academic platforms and since it has closely related with the interpretation process its way of use could change by the mass communication devices. Since the mass communication devices could be manipulated according to the agendas of central governments or other power/political sources some social based problems would be created. When a structure, which is principally obliged to inform the public objectively, starts to use the language according to its needs and agenda, it forms the problem of creating compromised meanings.Keywords: Language, Media, Pragmatism
