Abstract
99 7. SUMMARY In this study, the effects of various rootstocks on the fruit yield and quality of Kütdiken and italyan Memeli lemons budded on the local sour orange, Troyer and Carrizo citranges, Volkameriana, Yuzu, Taiwanica, Cleopatra mandarin, Brazilian sour orange, Benecke trifoliata and rough lemon were investigated in 1990 and 199 1. The results of two years experiments were as: 1) In Kütdiken lemon, the highest per tree yield were obtained from trees on Volkameriana (141.40 kg/tree); italyan Memeli lemon on Citrus aurantium (95.97 kg/tree). The lowest yield were obtained from trees on Benecke trifoliata (29.25 kg/tree) in Kütdiken lemon; İtalyan Memeli Lemon on Troer (29. 14 kg/tree) and Carrizo citrange (48.63 kg/tree). 2) In Kütdiken lemon, the biggest fruits were produced by Volkameriana (126.63 g) and Taiwanica (126. 14 g); The smallest fruits were produced by Benecke trifoliata (95.78 g). In italyan Memeli lemon, the biggest fruits were provided from trees on Volkameriana; the smallest fruits on Troyer citrange. 3) Lemon cultivars budded on various rootstocks have generally produced thin rind on Benecke trifoliata and citranges. The thickest rind was found with Kütdiken on Taiwanica and Brazilian sour orange (6.54 mm); the thinnest rind on Benecke trifoliata (3.50 mm) and Carrizo citrange (4.20 mm). İtalyan Memeli lemon had different aspect at the ring side; The fruits with thickest rind were produced by Volkameriana (5.27 mm); the thinnest rind by the trees on Troyer (3.35 mm) and Carrizo (3.4 1 mm) and Cleopatra mandarin (3.73 mm) 4) In Kütdiken lemon, the highest titrable acid content obtained from the trees on sour orange (% 7.8 1); the lowest on Troyer citrange (% 6.80). On the other hand in italyan Memeli lemon, titrable acid content had no100 significant effect by rootstocks. 5) The rootstocks had no statistically significant effect on juice content on both Kütdiken and italyan Memeli lemon. Only in the first year, in Kütdiken lemon the highest acidity values were obtained on Carrizo citrange (% 44 30) the lowest on Troyer citrange (% 33.80). 6) Acording to the diameter measurement taken during two years the best growth was obtained from Kütdiken lemon trees on Cleopatra mandarin; Taiwanica and Brazilian sour orange followed it. On the other hand the veakest growth was determined from the trees on the Rough lemon; the growth of trees on Troyer and Carrizo citranges found veak, too. In italyan Memeli lemon, the best growth indicated from the trees on sour orange and Cleopatra mandarin; the veakest growth on Carrizo and Troyer citranges. 7) In graded evaluations of the pomological characteristics, while the best rootstock for Kütdiken lemon was Yuzu; Taiwanica, Volkameriana and Cleopatra mandarin were found promising. In italyan Memeli lemon, Taiwanica game the highest values. Volkameriana, Yuzu and Cleopatra were found promising Benecke trifoliata and citranges had loves values and they placed in the group of the must negative rootstocks. 99 7.
