Abstract
LX SUMMARY CHOOSING QUALITY OF SERVICE PARAMETERS OVER MPSL/VPN NETWORKS Providing the best quality of service has been in the most important place, as the internet is growing rapidly and has become a commercial issue in the last decade. For this purpose, commercial companies demand video conferencing and voice transportation in the name of security and rapid communication. That's why quality of service needs an improvement such as minimizing delay and noise in the line. Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) has announced various quality of service parameters in order to meet the quality of service needs. The crucially important ones can be said as Resource Reserved Protocol (RSVP), Differentiated Service Model (DS), Multi protocol Label Switching (MPLS) and Traffic Engineering (TE). In this thesis, a very basic service provider network has been simulated and MPLS has been run over this simulated network. Peer-to-Peer VPN Model has been implemented as a VPN solution over MPLS-enabled network and the improvements to the quality of service parameters have been emphasized. Voice over IP (VoIP) has been deployed on a foreseen model with the quality of service mechanisms.
