Abstract
Dynamical systems that are non-linear and deterministic and have chaotic behavior can only be investigated by non-linear methods. Time series, a non-linear method, has been used to show that EEG signals have chaotic behavior. Furthermore, Lyapunov exponents that determine a chaotic state of a dynamical system can be calculated to physiologically identify and evaluate the characteristics of EEG signals. In this thesis; calculation of the largest Lyapunov exponent by time series analysis method has been examined, the largest Lyapunov exponents of EEG signals taken from brain channels FP1-F3 and FP2-F4, placed in the scalps of two epileptic patients, have been calculated, the differences in the largest Lyapunov exponents have been analyzed and the status of the patients and the characteristics of the channels have been discussed.
