Abstract
ABSTRACT In this study children aged between 5 and 6 years old were taken under research to findout the flexibility and physical conditions, and development using cymnastics and swimming exercises. Çukurova University under six age they care school and private Sefa they care school children were taken in to research. The avarage age of the children 5.26+0.44, the height 1.09+0.05, and the weight 19.22+3.24 means are carauleted.Total sixty children including the 20 control children. The children were taken in to swimming and gymnastics exercises two hours twice a week and other exercises were prohibitted. The trials were twelve weeks. The height mesurements taken before and after the exercises were significiant in all three groups. On the other hand the weight development was not significant. There were significant improvements on the children for flexibility mesurements. These were sit and reach, back and reach and ankle flexibility. From these in gymnastic group spagat, and in the swimming group back flexibility and ankle flexibility were significant improve. There were significant improvements in physical conditions of the children a specially on pull-legs, stand by jumping in all three groups. In 20 m. sprint there were significant differences between the gymnastics swimming, and the control. The children which attended the gymnastics and swimming were faster then the control group. There were no significant differences in change legs in all three groups. Anthropometric properties which were mesured were significant in flexion biceps girth in gymnastic group, and wrist and palm development were significant in swimming as well as in gymnastics group to compared to control group. There were no significant differences in all three groups in calf girth mesurements. After 12 weeks of exercises body fat ratio was increased significantly on the control group. There were no significant differences in all three groups in calf girth mesurements. After 12 weeks of exercises body fat ratio was inreased significantly on the control group. There were no significant differences in body fat ratios of both cymnastics and swimming groups. XIIIKEYWORDS Flexibility: The range of movement of specific joint and its muscle groups. Heart Rate: The number of times the heart beats perminute. in most cases the number of heartbeats perminute is equal to the number of pulse beats perminute. Motor S kili: The ability of muscles to function harmoniously and efficiently, resulting in smooth coordined muscular movement. A reflection of general athletic skill. Treadmill: A testing device consisting of a motor-driven conveyer belt constructed so that the speed and angle of incline can be so regulated to produce varying exercise uork loads. Body Composition: The relative amounts of the structural components of the body-muscle, bone, and fat.
