G-8 ülkelerinde ve Türkiye`de savunma harcamaları ve ekonomik büyüme ilişkisi: Panel veri ve zaman serisi analizi

Abstract

Ekonomi literatüründe, henüz netliğini kazanmamış konulardan biri, savunma harcamalarının ekonomik büyüme üzerinde etkisinin olup olmadığıdır. Her ülkenin yapısal farklılığı, politik durumu, jeopolitik konumu nedeniyle savunma harcamaları birbirinden farklılık göstermektedir. Bu nedenle, literatürdeki araştırmaların sonuçları birbirinden farklı çıkmaktadır. Bu araştırmanın amacı, G-8 ülkeleri ve Türkiye'nin savunma harcamaları ve ekonomik büyüme ilişkisinin incelenmesidir.

In the economics literature, one of the topics that has not yet been clarified is whether defence expenditure has an impact on economic growth. Defence expenditure differs in each country due to the structural differences, political situation and geopolitical position. Therefore, the results of the studies in the literature are different from each other.The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between defence expenditure and economic growth in G-8 countries and Turkey.
