Sosyobilimsel konuların öğretiminde altı şapka düşünme tekniğinin öğrencilerin akademik başarılarına, eleştirel düşünme ve karar verme becerilerine etkisi

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, sosyobilimsel konuların öğretiminde altı şapka düşünme tekniğinin, öğrencilerin akademik başarılarına, eleştirel düşünme ve karar verme durumlarına etkisini araştırmaktır. Çalışma, 2017-2018 akademik yılı sonbahar döneminde Konya il merkezinde bulunan bir ortaokulda 121 yedinci sınıf öğrencisiyle, 2 öğretmen ve 4 sınıfta yapılmıştır. Her öğretmenin iki sınıfından bir tanesi altı şapka düşünme tekniğinin uygulandığı deney grubu, diğeri ise mevcut programın öngördüğü yöntem ve tekniklere göre derslerin yürütüldüğü kontrol grubu olarak belirlenmiştir. Evsel atıklar, geri dönüşüm ve kimya endüstrisi konularını kapsayan akademik başarı testi, eleştirel düşünme eğilimlerinin belirlenmesi için Eleştirel Düşünme Eğilim Ölçeği (EDEÖ) ve karar verme durumlarının belirlenmesi amacıyla da Ergenlerde Karar Verme Ölçeği (KVÖ) her iki gruba uygulama öncesi öntest ve uygulama sonrasında sontest olarak uygulanmıştır.Elde edilen verilerin analizi için bağımsız örneklemler için t-testi ve Çok Değişkenli Varyans Analizi (MANOVA) yapılmıştır. Çalışma bulgularına göre deney grubu ile kontrol grubu arasında ele alınan değişkenlerden akademik başarı son test puanları açısından anlamlı farklılığın (p< 0.5) olduğu görülmüştür. Ancak EDEÖ ve KVÖ son test puanları açısından deney ve kontrol grupları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık tespit edilememiştir. Çalışmanın bulguları ilgili alan yazın ışığında değerlendirilerek çeşitli önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

The purpose of this study is to search the effects of six thinking hats in socio-scientific issues on academic achievement of learnes, critial thinking and decision making skills of learners. The study has been carried out with 2 teachers on 4 classroom with 121 srudents of 7 th graders in a secondery school which located in the centre of Konya, in 2017-2018 academic year fall term. One of two classes of each teacher is an experimental group which the six thinking hats technique was carried out, and the other one is pilot group which courses contucted according to method and technique current schedule foresee. Academic achievement last covering domestic wastes, recycling chemistry and industry subjects, Critical Thinking Tendency Scale (EADS) for determining critial thinking tendencies (EADS), and Pre-test for Adolescents Decision Making Scale (CVS) for both groups after the application as the test was last applied. T-test and Multivariate Analysis of Veriance (MANOVA) were performed for the independent samples for the analysis of the data obtained . According to the study findings, it was seen that there was a significant difference between the experimental group and the control group in terms of academic achievement past-test scores (P<0.5). However, there was no statistically significant difference between the experimental and control groups in terms of past-test scores of EADS and CVS. The findings of the study were evaluated in the light of the literature and the suggestions were made.
