dc.description.abstract17 7- ÖZET Bu çalışmada Kars yöresinde çeşitli türlerden evcil ve yabani 270 sağlıklı hayvanın (50 koyun, 8 Köpek, 50 Sığır, 58 Kaz, 10 Martı, 10 Karga, 15 Ördek, 32 Tavuk, 5 At, 12 Buzağı, 10 Güvercin, 10 Kuzu) rektal ve kloakal swablan Campylobacter jejuni yönünden incelendi. Alınan swablar Campylobacter Blood Free Base (modified CCDA o preston) Selektive Agar'a ekilerek 37 C 'de 3 gün mikroaerofilik atmosferde inkübe edildi.
dc.description.abstract18 8. SUMMARY The prevalance of Campylobacter jejuni domestic and wild animals in Kars district. In this study, 270 kloakal and rectal samples from healthy domestic and wild animals (50 sheep, 8 dogs, 50 cattle, 58 geese, 10 gulls, lOcrows, 15 duscks, 32 chickens, 5 horses, 12 calves, 10 pigeons, 10 lambs) were examined for the prevalance of Campylobacter jejuni. All rectal and kloakal swabs were cultured on Campylobacter Blood Free Felective Agar Base 0 Medium and incubated at 37 C in microaerophilic atmosphere for 3 days. Smears of suspicious colonies with the grey in colour were Gram stained for the presence of typical `gull -wings`. The criteria used to identify Campylobacter jejuni isolates were `tadpole-like` motility under phase-contrast illumination, microaerophilic requirement, growth at 0 0 42 C no growth at 25 C, and postitive catalase and oxidase tests. Out of 270 specimens examined, Campylobacter jejuni was found to be present in 186 (68,8 %). The isolation rates for sheep, dogs, cattle, geese, gulls, crows, ducks, chickens, horses, calves, pigeons, lambs were 56 % (28/50), 37.5 %(3/8), 62 % (31/50), 89.6 % (52/58) 100 % (10/10), 100 % (10/10), 86.6 % (13/15), 87.5 % (28/32), 0 % (0/5) 25 % (3/12), 10 % (1/10) and 70 % (7/10) respectively.en_US
