Öğretmen adaylarının genetik konusundaki kavramsal anlamalarına görsel materyallerin etkisi

Abstract

Günümüzde soyut kavramların anlaşılmasında bilgisayarların kullanılması önemli görülmektedir. Özellikle bilgisayarlarda görsel materyallerin hazırlanması ve eğitimde kullanılmasının başarıya olumlu etkisi olduğu düşünülmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı; genetik konusunda görsel materyalleri kullanarak kavramsal anlamayı sağlamak ve kavram yanılgılarını gidermektir. Çalışmada Kafkas Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi Fen Bilgisi Eğitimi Anabilim Dalında okumakta olan son sınıf öğrencileri örneklem grubunu oluşturmaktadır. Bu iki grup öğrenciye öncelikle genetik konusu ile ilgili kavram testleri uygulanmıştır. Bir grup öğrenci kontrol grubu olarak planlanmış ve sadece düz anlatım tekniği ile genetik konusu tekrar edilmiştir. Diğer grup ise deney grubu olarak planlanmış ve görsel materyallerle genetik konusu kendilerine sunulmuştur. Sonrasında deney ve kontrol gruplarına kavram testi tekrar uygulanmıştır.Kavram testlerinin analizi sonucu elde edilen verilere göre; deney ve kontrol grubunun ön test sonuçlarına ilişkin toplam puanları hesaplanmıştır. Uygulamaların sonunda deney ve kontrol grubu anlamlı fark olup olmadığını tespit etmek için istatistik hesaplamalar yapılmıştır. Yapılan istatistiksel değerlendirme sonucunda kontrol ve deney grubu arasında deney grubunun lehine anlamlı fark bulunmuştur.

Nowadays, it is considered important to use computers in understanding abstract concepts. It is thought that the preparation of visual materials in computers and their use in education have a positive effect on success. The aim of this study is to provide conceptual understanding and eliminatemis conceptions by using visual materials about genetics.In this study, the last year students of Kafkas University Faculty of Education Department of Science Education constitute the sample group. Conceptional tests related to genetics were applied to these two groups of students. A group of students was planned as a control group and genetics was repeated with only plainn arrative technique. Theothergroupwasplanned as an experimental groupand presented to the subject of genetics with visual materials. Afterwards, conceptional test wasappliedtoexperimentalandcontrolgroupsagain.According to the data obtained as a result of analysis of conceptional tests; total scores of experimentalandcontrolgroupsregardingpre-test results were calculated. At theendof the applications, statistical calculations were performed to determine whether there was a significant difference between experimental and control groups. As a result of the statistical evaluation, a significant difference was found between the control and experimental groups in favor of the experimental group.
