Çağdaş sanatta ölüm kavramı

Abstract

İnsanın yaratılışından beri var olan ölüm duygusunun sanatta en çok kullanılan temalardan biri olmasının sebebi,birçok anlamda değişikliklere uğramış olsa da gücünden ve büyüsünden hiçbir şey kaybetmemiş olmasıdır.Bu çalışmada ilk uygarlıklardan itibaren günümüz sanat akımlarına kadar olan süreç incelenmiştir.Mitoloji,ilk inanışlar,insanlığı etkilemiş temel dinler,Rönesans'la birlikte değişen resim anlayışı,Avrupa sanatı,günümüz Amerika'sında sanat ve çağdaş Türk sanatı ele alınan ana başlıklardır.Bu başlıklar doğrultusunda yapılan çalışmada dikkati çeken nokta,eserlerinde bu konulara eğilen sanatçıların,bilinmeyen ve tecrübe edilemeyen ölümü farklı inançlar ve farklı felsefi görüşler aracılığıyla ele almış olmalarıdır.Yaşamın çok boyutluluk ve renkliliğine karşın;ölümün hiçliğinin,donukluğunun ve tekdüzeliğinin farkında olan bu sanatçılar,ölümü tuvalin yüzeyine taşıyarak etkisini güçlendirmişlerdir.Ele alınan sanatçı örneklerinin ve sanat yapıtlarının sınırlı sayıda olmasının nedeni ise ölümü tüm yanlarıyla çözümlemeye çabalamanın,çalışmanın amacını ve sınırlılıklarını aşmış olmasıdır.Bu sebeple sanatçıların en çok bilinen yapıtlarına yer vermenin uygun olacağı düşünülmüş,ölüm olgusunun sanat tarihi boyunca yüzyılımıza kadar geçirdiği değişim süreci bu örneklerle ele alınmaya çalışılmıştır.

The reason that the feeling of death,which exists since the creation of mankind,is the most frequently used theme in art is that even though it has changed and evolved throughout the history,the concept of death did not lose it's gravity and power.In this paper,the timeline from the first civilizations to the current art trends are researched.Mythology,first beliefs,the ground religions that really affected humanity the change in art with Renaissance,European art,current American and Turkish art are the main titles investigated.The research points out that the artists which lean on the topic of unexplainable and inexperienceable death have taken the concept by the means of different beliefs and philosophies.Contrary to the multi-dimensionality and the colourfulness of life; death has the feeling of void,being frozen and dryness and the artists who are well aware of this,put the essence of death to the canvas.The reason for the limited amount of artists and arts taken into account is that the struggle to understand death reaches beyond the reason of this research.This is why the thesis only includes the most well-known compositions of the artists to explain the change in the meaning and understanding of death throughout the art history.
