Kontrol grubunda, anksiyete skoru 7,66±3,92, depresyon skoru 7,43±3,71 idi. Anksiyete skorları hafif uyku apne sendromunda 6,14±4,02, orta uyku apne sendromunda 6,50±4,31, ağır uyku apne sendromunda 6,34±4,49 idi. Depresyon skorları, hafif uyku apne sendromunda 6,66±3,29 orta uyku apne sendromunda 6,54±2,43 ağır uyku apne sendromunda 6,53±3,67 idi.
Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate to association of anxiety and depression with sleep apnea syndrome, also to determine the effect of severity of sleep apnea syndrome to anxiety and depression. Methods: One hundred thirty four persons were included to investigation, they were sending to polysomnography analyses to Sleep Department of Medicine Faculty of Harran University from different clinics of our hospital and environment hospitals. Fifty one patients with apnea hypopnea index were (AHİ) <5 and they consisting the control group, while 83 patients with AHİ?5 consisting the patients group. Patients group were divided in to 3 groups according to AHİ as follow AHİ: 5-14,9 mild sleep apnea syndrome (n:27), AHİ: 15-29,9 moderate sleep apnea syndrome (n:24), AHİ?30 severe sleep apnea syndrome (n:32). Anxiety and depression scales were evaluated to all participants.Finding: Fifty one persons were included to study as control group that there were 28 male and 23 female. The average of age of persons were 45,41±11,72 body mass index was 30,11±4,84. The patients group was 83 patients as 48 male and 35 female. The average of age of patient group was 48,54±10,59, body mass index was 31,97±5,10.Anxiety and depression scores of control group were 7,66±3,92 and 7,43±3,71 respectively. Anxiety scores of patients with mild sleep apnea syndrome, moderate sleep apnea syndrome and severe sleep apnea syndrome were 6,14±4,02, 6,50±4,31 and 6,34±4,49 respectively. Depression scores of patients with mild sleep apnea syndrome, moderate sleep apnea syndrome and severe sleep apnea syndrome were 6,66±3,29, 6,54±2,43 and 6,53±3,67. The scores anxiety and depression was find more low in patient groups, but anxiety and depression scores of patient and control group were not statistically different (them of all p>0,05).Conclusion: Our findings suggested that was not association between sleep apnea syndrome and anxiety or depression scores. Keywords: Sleep apnea syndrome, anxiety, depression, sleep, Polysomnographyen_US
