| dc.description.abstract | In this thesis Richard Schechner's concept of performance, which emphasizes the close relationship between theatre and the social sciences is investigated. Studies with anthropologist Victor Turner, contributed a great deal in creating the performance theory of Richard Schechner are also mentioned. The play Dionysus in 69, which is an example of the concept of his performance in practice and bears the characteristics of environmental theatre is examined.
