In this study, the moss materials Rhytidiadelphus triquetrus and Tortella tortuosa were collected in forest area from the Yapraklı town of Çankırı. Species identification of the collected materials were performed. These mosses were dried at room temperature (25 °C) in the shade and disintegrated with liquid nitrogen. Hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, methanol, water, water / ethyl acetate and water / n-butanol extracts of the materials were prepared, respectively. Fatty acides of hexane extracts by GC-MS and other phenolic compounds in extracts by the HPLC-TOF/MS were performed. Antiproliferative activity of all extracts which were obtained were determined by BrdU ELISA method against HeLa and C6 cells. The hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate extract of two the mosses and the Water / EtOAc extract of Tortella tortuosum which have higher antiproliferative activity were detected cytotoxic activities. The extracts (exceptional Water / EtOAc extract of Tortella tortuosa) was found to be less toxic than 5-fluorouracil used as a standard.en_US
