Solar keratoz grubunda lezyonlardan 8'nde, seboreik keratoz grubunda lezyonlardan 3'nde orta derecede pigmentasyon bozukluğu gözlendi. 41
I. SUMMARY The Efficacy of Cryotherapy in the Treatment of Seborrheic and Solar Keratoses Solar and seborrheic keratoses are very common skin tumors, most often affecting middle-aged and elderly people. This study was designed to determine efficacy of cryotherapy in the treatment of solar and seborrheic keratoses, which is a treatment modality that does not have serious complications and can be used safely in all age groups including elderly. In this study, cryotherapy was used to treat 29 cases with 92 solar keratoses and 22 cases with 29 seborrheic keratoses. For this purpose, liquid nitrogen was applied to these lesions directly, by using cotton tipped applicators. The lesions lhat did not respond after the first application were treated again, in three week intervals, at most for three times. `In both solar and seborrheic keratosis groups, cryotherapy was found to be effective as high as %96.3 and %96.6, respectively. Complete healing has been obtained in 79 of 82 lesions in the solar keratosis group and 28 of 29 lesions in the seborrheic keratosis group. There have been no serious complications. Moderate pigment changes were noted at 8 of the lesions in solar keratosis group and 3 of the lesions in seborrheic keratosis group. Atrophic scar was noted at 2 of the lesions in solar keratosis group and 1 of the lesions in seborrheic keratosis group. As a result, we concluded that cryotherapy is very effective and can be used safely in the treatment of solar and seborrheic keratoses. 42en_US
