Prostat kanseri tanısında transrektal ultrasound guided biopsi tekniğinin önemi

Abstract

SUMMARY 226 patients with prostatism symptoms refemed to Gülhane Military Medical Academy, Department of Urology were evaluated in regard to their DRE and PSA findings with TRUS guided transpperineal automatic core prostate needle biopsy beetwen November 1994 and July 1997. 12 hours before biopsy and 48-72 hours aftre biopsy ariginai ciprofloxasin (Ciproxin ® 500 tb) is peoral taked. 2 hours before biopsy rectal cleaning is made by Libalaks ®. Ultrasonographic findings devide benign and malign according to their normal and abnormal echoppattems. All patients had DRE. PSA evaluated with RIA technique. Above 4.0 ng/ml PSA values were concidered as a malignancy. DRE, PSA, TRUS evaluated istatistically. Sensitivity of TRUS + PSA was 100%; DRM was 56, 1 %. TRUS + PSA concidered valuable technique before sextant biopsy. As a result 57 patients diagnosed prostate cancer whereas 30 patients organ confined cancer with TRUS guided biopsy 4 patients were over 70 age and 3 patients were not agreed with radical sugery. Because of this radical prostatectomy performed to 23 patients. Otherwise 23 patients hod curative treatment chance. Ail patients controlled periodicly. 2 nd year 2 patients administered anti androgen theraphy because of one of them increased PSA value, and the other seminal vesicula invasion.
