dc.description.abstract48 SUMMARY Although in our study and the literature show that/ the componest discal hernias are seen between L4-L5, usually the narrowing is seen between L5-S1. Our conclusion is to diagnose the place of the hernia, myelography should be accepted as an absolute indication and must be done definitely before surrigical attempt; According to the literature the discal hernies are seen more in males [60-68 %]`. In our study % 80,8 per cent of the patients were number of the male workers included to the our study*; The effects of the age and occupation groups in occuring of the discal hernies do not show significant difference in our study and the literature.
