Okulöncesi dönemi resimli çocuk kitaplarında mitolojik öyküler üzerinden kavramların anlatımı ve bir resimli kitap tasarımı

Abstract

Resimli çocuk kitapları görsel okuma imkânı sunarak, okulöncesi dönemdeçocuğun duyularını uyarmanın en etkili yolu olmaktadır. Kavram gelişimi, budönem çocuğunun düşünsel gelişimi açısından önemlidir. Resimli çocuk kitapları,görsel okuma yoluyla çocuklarda kavram gelişimini desteklemektedir. Buçalışmada okulöncesi dönemi çocuklarında kavram gelişimini destekleyecekresimli bir çocuk kitabı tasarlamak amaçlanmaktadır. Kavram gelişiminidesteklemek için mitolojik öykülerden yararlanmak bu çalışmanın diğer biramacıdır. Seçilen mitolojik öykünün ilgi çekiciliği üzerinden çeşitli kavramlarınçocukta gelişimi hedeflenirken, aynı zamanda bu mitolojiye ilgi duyması ve meraketmesi için erken yaşta bir duyarlılık geliştirmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Okulöncesidönemi resimli çocuk kitaplarında mitoloji konulu hikayelerin yetersiz olmasınedeniyle, alandaki bu boşluğun kapatılmasına katkı sunacak mitolojik bir resimlikitap hazırlamak bu çalışmanın bir diğer önemli amacıdır.Çalışmanın birinci bölümünde mitlerin kökeni, mit masal ilişkisi, mit efsane ilişkisiele alınmaktadır. Mit efsane ilişkisi ortaya konulduktan sonra, bu bağlamdaefsanelerden örnekler verilmektedir. Çalışmada daha sonra mitolojik anlatılardayer eden kavramların işleniş biçimi, ölüm-yaşam, korku-cesaret örnekleriüzerinden ele alınmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın konusu olan Simurg efsanesi, ele aldığıkavramlar ve farklı kültürlerde Simurg efsanesinin yer ediş biçimi açısından birincibölümün son başlığı olarak incelenmektedir.Çalışmanın ikinci bölümünde, okulöncesi dönemi çocuklarının gelişim aşamalarıincelenmiştir. Resimli çocuk kitabının çocuğun gelişim düzeyine uygun olarakhazırlanabilmesi için; çocuk gelişimi bilişsel, dilsel, duygusal ve sosyal yönleriyleele alınmaktadır. Bir sonraki başlıktaysa, okulöncesi dönemde kavram gelişimi veiiresimli çocuk kitaplarının kavram gelişim sürecine etkileri incelenmektedir. Bubölümde, tasarlanacak resimli çocuk kitabında aktarılmak istenen kavramların,çocuk gerçekliğine uygun şekilde seçilmesi sağlanmıştır. Bu bölümde daha sonraokulöncesi döneme hitap eden çocuk kitaplarının türleri incelenmektedir. Bubölümün son başlığındaysa resimli çocuk kitapları biçim ve içerik açısından elealınmaktadır. Oluşturulacak hikayenin temel unsurları bu bölüme uygun biçimdeoluşturulmuş olup biçim açısından dikkat edilmesi gereken unsurlar netleştirilmiştir.Çalışmanın üçüncü bölümünde, duyguları ele alan resimli çocuk kitaplarındanörnekler incelenmektedir. Olumlu ve olumsuz birbirinden farklı duygunun yer aldığıbeş farklı kitap, bir önceki bölümde ele alınan biçim ve içerik ölçütlerine uygunolarak değerlendirilmektedir. Bu bölüm içindeki ikinci başlıktaysa, okulöncesi içintasarlanmış mitoloji temalı resimli kitaplardan örnekler incelenmektedir.Dördüncü bölümde, `öfke` duygusunun konu olarak seçilmesine karar verilmiş,`Ezo ve Simurg'un Yolculuğu` adlı hikâye bu kavram işlenerek oluşturulmuştur.Yine bu bölümde hikayenin gelişim aşamaları ve kitabın tasarımı sırasındakullanılan yöntem ve teknikler incelenmektedir.Anahtar sözcükler: İllüstrasyon, Okulöncesi, Resimli çocuk kitapları, Grafiktasarım, Mitoloji, Simurg, Efsane.

Children's picture books are the most effective way to stimulate the child's senseperceptions in the preschool period, by providing the opportunity for visual reading.Concept development is important for the intellectual development of the child inthis period. Children's picture books support concept development in childrenthrough visual reading. In this study, it is aimed to design an illustrated children'sbook that will support concept development in preschool children. Another aim ofthis study is to use mythological stories to support concept development. Whileaiming the development of various concepts in the child through the attractivenessof the chosen mythological story, it is also aimed to develop a sensitivity at anearly age so that she is interested and curious about this mythology. Anotherimportant aim of this study is to prepare a mythological picture book that willcontribute to closing this gap in the field, since there are enough stories aboutmythology in preschool children's picture books.In the first part of the study, the origin of myths, the relationship between myth andfairy tale, and the relationship between myth and legend are discussed. Afterrevealing the myth-legend relationship, examples from legends are given in thiscontext. Then, the way the concepts from the ground are handled in mythologicalnarratives are discussed through examples of death-life, fear-courage. The Simurglegend, which is the subject of this study, is examined as the last title of the firstchapter in terms of the concepts it deals with and the way the Simurg legend takesplace in different cultures.In the second part of the study, the developmental stages of preschool childrenwere examined. In order to prepare the children's picture book in accordance withthe developmental level of the child; Child development is handled with itscognitive, linguistic, emotional and social aspects. In the next chapter, conceptivdevelopment in the preschool period and the effects of picture books on theconcept development process are examined. In this section, it is ensured that theconcepts to be conveyed in the children's picture book to be designed are selectedin accordance with the reality of the child. Then, the types of children's books thatappeal to the preschool period are examined. In the last chapter of this section,children's picture books are discussed in terms of form and content. The basicelements of the story to be created have been created in accordance with thissection, and the elements to be considered in terms of form have been clarified.In the third part of the study, examples of children's picture books dealing withabstract concepts are examined. Five different books, which contain differentabstract concepts, positive and negative, are evaluated in accordance with theformat and content criteria discussed in the previous section. In the secondchapter of this section, examples from mythology-themed picture books designedfor preschoolers are examined.In the fourth chapter, it was decided to choose the concept of `anger` as thesubject, and the story called `The journey of Ezo and Simurg` was created.
