Düşünce, dil bağlamında Kosuth ve sanatı

Abstract

20. yüzyılda Birinci ve İkinci dünya savaşının ardından yaşanan toplumsal, siyasal ve ekonomik yöndeki değişimler sanatta sürekli bir devrimin yaşanmasını sağlamıştır. Dönem içerisinde gelişen, Duchamp'ın 'düşünce olarak sanat' olgusu 1960'lı yılların sonunda Kavramsal Sanat'ın doğmasına neden olmuş ve Kosuth özelinde yeni bir anlam kazanmıştır. Kosuth, Wittgenstein'ın Tractatus' da aynı sözcüklerin farklı anlamlara bağlandığı dilin doğal eksikliğinin, yapay ve mantıksal olduğu savı üzerinden giderek, dilbilimsel bir üslup geliştirmiştir. Bu bağlamda yaratıcı süreci anlamayı hedefleyen Kosuth, dil çözümleyicisi, felsefeci ve antropolog rolünü üstlenmiştir. Bu araştırma, Kosuth'un Sanat'a, Sanatçıya ve Sanat nesnesine bakışını incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Teorik çerçeve; Kosuth'un Sanatı ve eserlerinin çözümlemesine dayanmaktadır. Araştırmada öncelikle Kosuth'un biyografisi ele alınarak, sanat dilinin oluşum süreci incelenmiştir. Daha sonra Kosuth öncülünde ki 20. Yüzyıl akımlarına genel bir bakış yapılarak, Dada hareketi ve sürrealizm ile ilişkisine bir açıklık getirilmiştir. Son bölümde ise; Kosuth'un sanat dili kapsamlı olarak incelenip, bazı çalışmaları yorumlanmıştır. Ardından günümüz sanatındaki yerinin bir değerlendirilmesi yapılmıştır.Anahtar kelimeler: Kavramsal Sanat, Joseph Kosuth, 20. Yüzyıl akımları

In the 20. Century, the changes in social, political and economic areas after the First and the Second World War have paved the way for a continuous revolution in art. The concept of 'art as a form of thought' which evolved in this period, gave rise to Conceptual Art at the end of 1960s and has gained a new meaning with Kosuth.Kosuth developed a morphological style by following the footsteps of Wittgenstein who, in his book Tractatus, defends the idea that the deficiency of the language in which the same words are linked to different meanings are artificial and logical. In this respect, Kosuth, who aims to understand the process of creativity, has undertaken the role of a language analyst, philosopher and anthropologist. The aim of this research is to examine Kosuth's approach to Art, Artist and the object of Art. The theoretical frame is based on the Art of Kosuth and the understanding of his works. In this research, first of all, Kosuth's biography and the formation process of his language of art have been examined. Then, the movements in the 20. Century with the pioneering role of Kosuth have been discussed and the Dada movement and its relationship with Surrealism have been highlighted. In the last section, Kosuth's language of art has been analyzed comprehensively and some of his works have been interpreted. Subsequently, his place in today's art has been evaluated.Key words: Conceptual Art, Joseph Kosuth, the Movements in the 20. Century
