121 8. SUMMARY The ornamentation in Bitlis architecture is an apperent sample of the art seemed on closed-regions. According to the its character and usage manner, decorating insight in buildings of Ottoman period, except High Mosque, has pecularities of Seljuk period. That the adorment is applied on the outside architecture, window, crown-door and projecting part of altar and that geometric motifs and compositions are forming the base of arragements are applications repeating the Seljuk period ornomentation in a different period. But according to the XIX, century Ottoman art central plan pecularities, Küfrevi Tomb, for later periods, is an exceptional parts in Bitlis buildings. So, to think that the buildings having ornamentation are from Seljuk period is more proper than to think that these are from Ottoman period. There are little decorating elements on Şerefiye Mosque and its tomb being alike Ottoman period adorments. These samples are not necessory applications arising from tradition and closed-region structure and influencing on Bitlis architecture adorments untill XX century; unlike, these are concious prefence. Though Ottoman art was influenced at XVI. century and later in Anatolia; architectural decorating in Bitlis wasn't completely infeuenced and this region was followed the Seljuk tradition while these Ottoman adorment elements occasionally joining to this tradition were being evaluated with a special comment, all of these and local pecularities caused to the close- region manner and adorments.
