Poliste stres yönetimi (Van ili örneği)

Abstract

73 OZ Bu çalışmanın amacı, polislerin stres yönetimi konusunda sergilemiş oldukları davranış biçimlerini ( stres yönetimlerini ) öğrenmektir. Araştırma verileri, Van Emniyet Müdürlüğünde görevli polisler üzerinde yapılan bir anket çalışması 'sonucu elde edilen sonuçlar temel alınarak oluşturulmuştur. Anket, `kişisel bilgiler` ve `stresi yönetme yolları` olmak üzere iki bölümden oluşmaktadır. Kişisel bilgilerle ilgili birinci bölümde, ankete katılan polislerin cinsiyetleri, öğrenim durumları, meslekteki görev süreleri, çalışmakta oldukları birimler ile rütbelerini belirleyen sorular bulunmaktadır. îkinci bölümde ise, stres, yönetimi konusunda polislerin izlemiş oldukları tutumları ölçmek amacı yirmi soruya yer verilmiştir. İlk on soru polislerin stres yönetimlerinde soruna yönelik stres yönetim tarzlarını öğrenmeye yönelik olup, son on soru ise kaçınmaya yönelik stres yönetim boyutunu öğrenmeye yönelik olarak hazırlanmıştır. 17. ve 20. sorular aynı sorudan oluşmaktadır. Anket soruları; `Hiçbir Zaman`(l), `Nadiren`(2), `Bazen`(3), `Genellikle`(4) ve `Her Zaman`(5) seçeneklerinde cevaplanabilecek şekilde düzenlenmiştir. Araştırmanın amacına ulaşabilmesi için SPSS programından yararlanılarak, t testi ve varyans analizi (f testi) ile çözümlenmiş ve yorumlanmıştır. Sonuç olarak Emniyet Teşkilatı mensuplarının stres yönetimini kaçınmaktan çok, soruna yönelik olarak çözme eğiliminde oldukları anlaşılmaktadır.

72 ABSTRACT Stress provides the means to express talents and energies and pursue happiness; it can also cause exhaustion and illness, either physical or psychological; heart attacks and accidents. The important thing to remember about stress is that certain forms are normal and essential. The results of continuing stress may cause disruption in one or more of the following areas of health: physical, emotional, spiritual and social. The main purpose of this research is to describe to behaviour of police officers, during their stress management. For this purpose, a questionare was prepared and used for data collection. The questionaire was consisted with two parts. First part was for data collection data about personal characteristics, second part was to learn the styles of stress management. The questionaire was applied 1 67 police chiefs and police officers in Van City. A five point scale was used. The scale was constructed with five alternatives from disagree to definetly agree. Collected data were analyzed by using SPSS (Data Analyse Programme). Anova, t test and correlation techniques were used for data analysis. The results showed that the police chiefs and police officers manage their stress with solving the problems rather than escape it, in Van Police Department.
