6. SUMMARY The oldest and, at the same time, the biggescity in Soulheost An tolia, Diyarbakır is near Mezopotamya and on the Silk Road. Tihs, it is credle of mony civillisations. With help of the syntes is of Islamic civilination, there are mony dif ferent art-works in Diyarbakır. Hence it is city that many explorers visit here very of ten. There are many studies a bout this importent city. But these studies hove not dealt with the mosque mihraps, but cons toructial impirovement of the mosque. This field needs to be surveyed by new studies. Sa, in this study, it is aimed that mihrabs of 16. arid 17. centuries would be detailedly studied. Tere building were affected by the locational reflections of the region. Mihrobs are important part of ottoman whire coriying out the survey on 16. ard 17. centuriyes mihrabs in southeost Aanatolia, ( Artukid, Ayyubid and Akkuyun ), geriero, improvemont proces of these mihrabs were oregorded. At the some time, works of the some period, be bonging oltoman oarts, were compared by thes work, and the location of these works, especially among works of Mimar Sinan were de termined. These mikrobs ar essentially, at first, unimportent. But, later, they had importence. At this stage regional and cultural pecularities hare been secognized they inpiroved when İslomic sovereignity spreod tovard anatolia and than it become one of the most impotitant element of the religional architect. Comlexity of the buildings belonging ottemon period in southeost Anatolia hare resembled to the Istanbul architect. 66
