dc.description.abstractSUMMARY In this dissertation, the progress in the student's ge neral strength and the endurance of their strength in their mass courses »Athletics, Basic Gymnastics and Handball was in vestigated. These courses are given in the first full semester in the Physical Education and Sport Department at the Uludağ University Education Faculty, The study was performed on 15 female and 15 male student volunteers in two groups. The average age of the female participants were: 18. 8+1. 27 The average age of the male participants were: 19. 3+1. 49 All the participants continued their first semester cour ses. They were told that they would not participate in other activities after class hours. They pursued these courses 12 weeks, 10 hours per week. The data to measure the student's general strength and endurance of their strength were collected in sit-up,upper back and pull-up tests before they were subjected to this training and after the training. As a result of this study, the test results collected before and after the training were found not significant sta tically by performing the paired t test. (p{0«01.) As a conclusion, because of the time it takes to teach the techniques in Athletics, Basic Gymnastics and Handball co urses, it can be said that the progress in the student's ge neral strength and endurance of their strength is not predic- 3table and significant.
