Kırkaltı streptokok izolatın tümünün penisilin, ampisilin, amoksisilin + klavulanik asit, teikoplanin, vankomisin, norf- laksasin, nitrofurantion, trimethoprim sulfamethazol, klarit-romisin, eritromisin, imipenem, piperasilin, sefalotin, seftriakson, klindamisin, oflaksasine dtıyarlı olduçu; dişer taraftan 27 susun tetrasiklin'e, 13 susun ise kloramfeni- kol'e dirençli olduşu belirlendi. dc.description.abstractSUMMARY Studies on Streptococci Isolated From Dogs In this study, frequency of precence, serogroups and an tibiotic susceptibilitis of streptococci on the surface of pharyngotonsillar tissue were determined. For this purpose, pharyngotonsillar swabs were taken from 57 diseased and 43 healtly dogs in the Gemlik Veterinary Military Stock Farm Dog Raising Unit and Clinics of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine University of Uludağ. After determining the growth characte ristics on the agar medium with 5% sheep blood and catalase activity, 102 isolates were taken in to consideration for i dent i f i cat i on. Using Sceptor Bacterium Identification System and test for growth in the medium containing 6,5 % NaCl and at 45 'C, 27 isolated were identified as Streptococcus pnetimoniae, 22 as S.salivarius, 13 as S. mi İleri, 5 as S.agalactiae, 8 as S.bovis, 7 as S. avium, 7 as S. faecal is and 12 as S.canis Fourty six streptococcus isolates showing beta hemolysis were serogrouped by latex agglutination test. Five of the isolates were in serogröup B while 22 and 12 were found to be in serogröup D and serogröup 6 respectively. All the isolates in group B and 9 isolates in group G gave positive reactions by CAMP test. All of the 46 isolates were determined to be sensitiv to penicillin, amoxycillin, amoxycillin + clavulanic acid, tei- coplanin, vancomycin, norf loxacine, nitrofurantoin, tetracyc line, trimethoprim sulfamethoxazole, clarithromycin, erytro- miycine, imipenem, piperacillin, cephalothin, ceftriaxon, clindamycin, ofloxacin. Twentyseven and 13 isolates were found to be resistant to tetracycline and chloramphenicol respectively. Key Words: Streptococcus, Serogrouping, Dog 4en_US
