H(q ) Hecke grupları ile ilgili minimal polinomlar

Abstract

H(?_q ) Hecke Grubu, q?N, q?3 olmak üzere ?_q=2cos ??q için R(z)?-1/z ve T(z)?z+?_q kesirli doğrusal dönüşümleri tarafından üretilen PSL(2,R)'nin ayrık bir alt grubudur. Hecke gruplarının denklik ve temel denklik alt gruplarının belirlenmesi hala açık bir problemdir. Modüler grup için bu alt grupların tümü belirlenmiştir. Hecke grupları için sadece seviyesi asal sayı olan denklik ve temel denklik alt gruplarının hesabı Cangül tarafından yapılmıştır, Cangül, 1993. Asal olmayan seviyeye sahip olan denklik ve temel denklik alt gruplarının hesaplanabilmesi için ?_q sayısının bu modlardaki değerlerinin hesaplanması gereklidir. Bu tez çalışmasında ?_q cebirsel sayısının matematiksel olarak anlamlı bir şekilde ifade edilemediği durumlarda bu sayının minimal polinomu olan P_q^* ile ilgili MAPLE kullanılarak hesaplamalar yapılmış ve 3?q?300 için P_q^*'ın genişletilmiş bir listesi verilmiştir. Buna ek olarak çeşitli q değerleri için ?_q cebirsel sayısının minimal polinomlarının asal moddaki köklerine ilişkin ispatları ile birlikte çeşitli sonuçlar elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen bu sonuçlar, ayrık gruplar teorisinin önemli bir problemi olan Hecke gruplarının denklik alt gruplarının incelenmesinde oldukça yarar sağlayacaktır ve bundan sonraki çalışmalara da ışık tutacaktır. Web'de http://www.scribd.com/documents adresine koyduğumuz polinom listelerine gösterilen yoğun ilgi gelecekte de bu polinomların bir çok çalışmaya faydasının olacağının bir göstergesidir. The Hecke group H(?_q ) is the discrete subgroup of PSL(2,R) which is generated by two linear fractional transformations defined as R(z)?-1/z and T(z)?z+?_q for q?N, q?3, ?_q=2cos ??q. It is an open problem to determine the congruence and principal congruence subgroups of the Hecke groups. For the modular groups case, all these subgroups are determined. In Cangul 1993, Cangul determined the congruence and principal congruence subgroups of prime level of the Hecke groups. To find those subgroups having non-prime level, it is necessary to reduce the values of ?_q in these modules. In this thesis, some calculations related to the minimal polynomials P_q^* of algebraic number ?_q, when this number cannot be properly reduced have been done by means of MAPLE and the extended lists of P_q^* have been given for 3?q?300. In additon to these proofs with some corollaries concerning the roots of minimal polynomials of algebraic number ?_q in modulo prime ? have been obtained for various values of q. These corollaries have been very useful in investigation of congruence subgroups of Hecke groups which is both main subject of this thesis and an important open problem in discrete group theory. Also these corollaries will be a guide for the future works. The attention shown to the lists of polynomials that we put to the web address http://www.scribd.com/documents clearly shows that these polynomials are going to be useful to many researchers in the future.
