Abstract

Yahya Kemal, Türk edebiyatının yakın geçmişte yetiştirdiği en büyük kıymetlerden biridir. Kültür, sanat, siyaset adamlığı gibi taşıdığı farklı kimliklere rağmen onun öne çıkan tarafı şairliğidir. Şiirleri daha edebî bir ortamda yayımlanmamış ve kitap olarak okuyucuya sunulmamışken dilden dile dolaşmaya başlamış, şairliği üzerinde yaşadığı dönemden bugüne çok söz söylenmiştir. Yahya Kemal, yerli ve Batılı şiir akımlarına tanıklık etmiş ancak şiirini hiçbir akımın dar kalıpları içerisine hapsetmemiştir. O, geleneğin ve Batılı şiir anlayışlarının kılavuzluğunda kendi şiirini meydana getirmenin mücadelesini vermiştir. Şiire Türkçenin sesini hâkim kılmaya çalışmış, şiirini ses, ahenk ve musiki unsurları üzerinde örgülemiş, hep dil ve söyleyiş mükemmelliğinin peşinde olmuştur. Bu çalışmada Yahya Kemal'in şiirleri içerik ve biçim merkezli olarak ele alınmıştır. Giriş bölümünde II. Meşrutiyet döneminin genel bir fotoğrafı çekilmiş; bu dönemdeki siyasi ve toplumsal ortam, fikir hareketleri ve Türk şiirinin genel durumu ele alınmıştır. I. Bölümde Yahya Kemal'in hayatı, kişiliği, sanat hayatı ve eserleri üzerinde durulmuştur. II. Bölümde ise şairin sanat, edebiyat ve dille ilgili görüşleri ortaya konmuştur. III. Bölüm, çalışmanın esasını teşkil etmektedir. Bu bölümde şairin şiirleri dört ana başlık altında incelenmiştir: içerik, şekil, dil ve üslup, ahenk. Yahya Kemal is one the greatest asset Turkish literature has raised in the recent past. Although he carried different identities like man of culture, art, politics and diplomacy, his being a poet was his most prominent aspect. His poems were being talked about even when they were not published in a literary circle or presented to reader as a book; much has been said on his being a poet from the time he has lived until now. Yahya Kemal has witnessed national and Western poetry trends but never imprisoned his poetry within the confines of one. Under the guidance of tradition and Western poetry conceptions, he has striven to bring his poetry forth. He tried to make the voice of Turkish dominant in poetry, weaving his rhyme over the elements of tone, rhythm, and music; always sought after excellence in language and articulation. In this work, Yahya Kemal's poems were dealt with based on content and style. In the prologue, Second Constitutional Era was pictured in general; political and social milieu of this era, thought movements and overall situation of Turkish poetry was discussed. In the first chapter, Yahya Kemal's life, personality, art life and works were dwelled on. In the second chapter, poet's opinions on art, literature and language were set forth. Third chapter is the essence of this work where poet's rhymes were analyzed under four main titles: content, style, language and manner, rhythm.
