dc.description.abstractD3 VTAMN EKSKLG OLAN HASTALARDA PARATROD HORMONDÜZEYNN PERODONTAL SAGLIK ÜZERNE ETKLERNNDEGERLENDRLMESAmaç: Bu çalısmanın amacı, 1,25(OH)2D3 seviyesinin belirlenerek D vitaminieksikligi tanısı konmus bireylerde paratiroid hormon seviyelerinin periodontaldokular üzerindeki etkilerinin degerlendirilmesidir.Materyal ve Metot: Çalısmamız D Vitamin eksikligi olan; paratiroid hormonseviyesi normal degerlerde 25 birey, paratiroid hormon düzeyi yüksek degerlerde 22birey ve laboratuar bulguları normal degerlerde 18 bireyi içermektedir. D Vitamineksikligi teshisi konmus paratiroid hormon seviyesi normal ve yüksek olan bireylerOndokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Endokrinoloji bölümünden OndokuzMayıs Üniversitesi Dis Hekimligi Fakültesi Periodontoloji klinigimize Ocak- Mayısayları aralıgında gönderilmis olup, periodontal saglıklı bireylerin kan örnekleriKasım- Ocak ayları aralıgında toplanmıstır. Çalısmaya dahil edilen tüm bireylerinperiodontal ölçümleri klinigimizde yapılarak, ortopanagromik röntgenleri OndokuzMayıs Üniversitesi Dis Hekimligi Fakültesi Oral Diagnoz ve Radyoloji Bölümündealınmıstır.Bulgular: Üç grubun periodontal teshislerinde istatiksel olarak anlamlı farkbulunmustur (p=0,017, x2=15,446). D vitamini düsük PTH'ı yüksek olanlarıntümünün periodontal açıdan hasta (ataçman kaybı, alveoler kemik rezorpsiyonu,gingival enflamasyon) oldugu gözlendi. D vitamini düsük PTH'ı normal olanlarda buoran %84 iken, D vitamini ve PTH'ı normal olan kontrol grubunda yarı yarıyaperiodontal hastalık gözlendi. D vitamini düsük PTH'ı yüksek olan grupta kronikperiodontitise yatkınlık %54 oranında gözlendi.Sonuç: PTH'ı yüksek olanlarda periodontal hastalıga yatkınlık daha fazlaydıdiyebiliriz.Anahtar Kelimeler: D Vitamini; Paratiroid Hormon; Periodontal Saglık; Periodontitis
dc.description.abstractAN ASSESSMENT OF THE EFFECT OF PARATHYROID HORMONE LEVELS ON PERIODONTAL HEALTH IN PATIENTS WITH VITAMIN D3 DEFICIENCY Aim: The purpose of this study was to find out the levels of 1.25(OH)2D3 and to assess the effect parathyroid hormone levels on periodontal tissues in patients who were diagnosed to have vitamin D deficiency. Material and Method: The study included 25 individuals with normal parathyroid hormone levels and 22 individuals with high parathyroid hormone levels all of whom had vitamin D deficiency and 18 individuals with normal laboratory findings. The individuals who had normal and high parathyroid levels and who were diagnosed to have vitamin D deficiency were sent to Ondokuz Mayıs University, Faculty of Dentistry, Periodontology Clinic from Ondokuz Mayıs University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Endocrinology between January and May and the blood samples of periodontally healthy individuals were collected between November and January. Periodontal measurements of all individuals included in the study were made in our clinic while their orthopantograms were taken in Ondokuz Mayıs University, Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Oral Diagnosis and Radiology. Results: A statistically significant difference was found between the periodontal diagnosis of the three groups (p=0.017, x2=15.446). All the individuals who had low levels of vitamin D and high levels of PTH were found to be periodontally sick (loss of attachment, alveolar bone loss, gingival enflamation). While this rate was found to be 84% in individuals who had low levels of vitamin D and normal levels of PTH, periodontal disease was found only in half of the control group that had normal levels of vitamin D and PTH. Predisposition to chronic periodontitis was found to be 54% in the group with low levels of vitamin D and high levels of PTH. Conclusion: Predisposition to periodontal disease can be said to be higher in individuals with high levels of PTH.
