Martı romanının Türkiye Türkçesine çevrilmesi ve çeviri sorunları

Abstract

Bir kaynak dildeki eser hedef dile aktarılırken bir takım çeviri sorunları ile karşılaşılmaktadır. Bu sorunlardan biri olan çeviride eşdeğerlik kavramı, kaynak bir dildeki anlatımın başka bir dilde aynı derinlikte yeniden canlandırılma gayreti olarak tarif edilebilir.Bu çalışmada bir dildeki çağrışımların bir hedef dile tam olarak ne ölçüde aktarılabileceği tartışılmıştır. Karşılaşılan çeşitli çeviri sorunları ile nihayetinde eşdeğere yakın bir çeviri yapılırken metinlerin özünü ve biçimini değiştirmeden Türkçeye aktarma kaygısı ile yeniden ortaya konulması süreci özetlenmiştir. Ayrıca kaynak dil İngilizceden hedef dil Türkiye Türkçesine yapılan çevirilerde karşılaşılan kuramsal ve pratik sorunların Richard Bach'ın Martı isimli romanı üzerinde karşılaştırmalı çözümlemeleri yapılmış ve bu sorunlara çözüm önerileri sunulmuştur. Çalışmada Martı adlı roman Türkiye Türkçesine çevrilmiş, sonrasında romanın farklı basımları temin edilmiş ve bunlar incelenerek eserin orijinali ile çevirileri arasındaki farklılıklar irdelenmiştir.Son olarak, belirlenen çeviride eşdeğerlik sorunları ve farklılıklar sınıflandırılmış buna göre de çözüm stratejileri sıralanmıştır. Çalışma sonunda kaynak dil ile hedef dil arasındaki kelime, şekil ve anlam farklılıklarından ötürü yüzde yüz çevirinin mümkün olamayacağı tespit edilmiştir.

Some problems are encountered in translation while transferring a work of art in a source language into a target language. The concept of equivalence, which is stated among the problems of translation, can be described as the effort to enable a revival of the source language expressions with the same depth of senses in the target language.In this study, it is discussed to what extend the expressions in a source language are transferable into a target language with their exact senses. Interpretation problems faced were summarized within the process of translating the source texts without spoiling their senses and forms so as to reach the meanings close to their equivalents in Turkey Turkish. In addition, the theoretical and practical problems encountered during the interpretation from English, the source language, into Turkey Turkish, the target language, a comparative analysis was done in the novel Seagull by Richard Bach and some solutions were offered for the problems. In this study, the novel Seagull was translated into Turkish, two other translated versions were provided, and then the differences were identified comparatively by examining on the basis of the original text.Finally, the interpretation problems of equivalence and the varieties identified were classified and the strategies for solutions were offered accordingly. In the end, it was determined that a hundred percent equivalence is impossible due to the differences in words, form and meaning, between the source and target languages.
