dc.description.abstract | All over the world and also in our country family companies have a big share intotal number of small and medium size companies. From this information wecan understand importance of family companies. Family companies havemany advantages . However compared to other type of companies theirlifetime seems to be shorter. The main reasons for this statement can beexplained as follows. Family companies can not adapt themselves toinformation and communication technologies as effecient and as fast as theother companies. The reason behind this is the conservative managing stylethey believe in. Family companies also have many administrative , financial ,cultural advantages. But , conflicts between family members and negativeresults of these conflicts can only be solved and controlled byinstitutionalization. Family companies should be managed efficiently andshould make thir future plans. Owners and administrators of family companiesshould understand that companies must not and can not be managed by dailypsychological conditions and emotions. There is an obligation for existence ofwritten and accepted rules valid for general and special conditions.Employment of professionals is very important for objective decisionmechanism. To avoid possible future conflicts company , companyconstitution should be preparedand announced. Company constititon shouldinclude critical topicsin details like , inheritance , authority , duties ,responsibilites . Education of the new generation should be handled seriouslybut it should never be forgotten that it is not an obligation for every member ofthe family to work in the company. Also it must be remebered that thecompany can be carried to new generations only if company profits arethought to be above the family profits. | en_US |
