Elif Şafak`ın `Mahrem` romanı ve Gözün İktidarı

Abstract

Gözun iktidan bizi, kimi zaman istanbul-1999'a, kimi zaman Pera-1885'e, kimi zaman Sibirya 1648'e, kimi zaman da Fransa-1868'e, birbirinden ayn gibi gorunen ama birbirine siki sikiya bagh hikayeere goturecek. Seyre daldigimiz bu alemn ne kadannin gercek, ne kadannin bir yanilsamadan ibaret dugunu anlamaya cahsacagz. Mdern dunyada, gozun iktidannin belirleyiciligini, Eif §afak'in Mahrem romanmdaki, kimi hayali, kimi gercek ki§i ve hikayelerin e§liginde gormeye ?ah§acagiz. Bri §i§man, digeri ise Cuce (Be-Ce) an iki sevgilinin 1999 istanbul'un da ba§layan hikayeleri, ge?mi§in kimi gergek kimi masalsi hikayeleriyle birle§ecek ve biz ise bu birlesmeden dogan cocuga, konu hakkmdaki literatur kaynak almarak, bir isim vermeye ?ah§acagiz. Daha dogrusu, gocugun hikayesini her kirn yazarsa yazsm, isim verenin her zaman Bati dugunu, gozun iktidannn Bati'da dugunu, Bati'nm da erkek dugunu kantlamaya ?ah§acagiz. Bu cahsmanin asil amaci `Gozun iktidan'nn gecmisini arştma, bugununu anlamak ve gelecegni ongormeye ?ah§maktir.

The power f the eye wll take us sometimes to stanbu - 1999, sometimes to Pera - 1885, sometimes to Sberia 1648 and sometimes to France - 1868, to stories which seem separate and yet firmy connected to each ther. We are gong to try to understand how much f this wrld we are watching s real and how much f t s just an llusion. We are gong to see the distinctive naturef the eye n the mdern wrld together wth the either fictional or real person and stories n Eif Safak's novel Mahrem. The story f tw overs, ne Fat and thether Mdget (Be-Ce) that starts n stanbul n 1999 w.....nk to some real andsome fictional stories f the past and we are gong to try to give a name to the child born to this ink basing n the iterature source n the subject. n ther wrds, we wll prove that the ne who gives name s always the West and that the power f the eye s n the West and that the West s male, no mater who wroe the story f the child. The real purpose f this study s to search the past f the `Eye's Pwer` and to understand ts present and to try to foresee ts future.
