Yabancılara Türkçe öğretiminde film kullanımının öğrencilerin anlama becerisine etkisi

Abstract

Yabancılara Türkçe öğretiminde film kullanımının öğrencilerin anlama becerisine olan etkisini farklı yönlerden betimlemek amacını taşıyan bu çalışma Gaziosmanpaşa Üniversitesi TÖMER ve Erzincan Üniversitesi TÖMER öğrencilerinden oluşan 36 kişilik örneklem grubuna uygulanmıştır.Araştırmanın veri toplama sürecinde araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan beş etkinlikten ikisi okuma-anlama, üçü dinleme/izleme-anlama etkinliği olarak tasarlanmıştır. Çalışmalar için her iki TÖMER'de de bir ders günü ayrılmıştır. Çalışma bir ders gününün tamamını kapsadığı için etkinlikler arasında geçiş yaparken ara verilmiştir. Uygulamaya öğrencilerin derse başlama saatlerinde, film öncesi etkinliklerle başlanmıştır. Film öncesi etkinliklerin uygulanmasından sonra filmin tamamı Türkçe altyazılı olarak sınıfta seyredilmiştir. Filmin seyredilmesi sırasında sadece bir kez 15 dakikalık bir ara verilmiştir. Film seyredilirken zaman zaman araştırmacı tarafından durdurulmuş, o ana kadar neler olduğu öğrencilere sorulmuştur. Yorum yapmak isteyen öğrencilere filmde olanlar hakkında söz hakkı verilmiştir. Daha sonra seyretmeye devam edilmiştir. Araştırmada toplanan verilerin analizinde 3 farklı istatistiksel analiz kullanılmıştır: 1.Etkinlikte rubrik, 2.Etkinlikte SPSS for Windows 20.00 paket programı aracılığıyla ilişkili (bağımlı) örneklemler için t- testi, 4 ve 5. Etkinlikte % analizi yapılmıştır.Araştırma sonucunda öğrencilerin sözlü olarak ifade edebildikleri şeyleri yazılı olarak ifade emekte zorlandıkları, yapılan kelime çalışmalarında öğrencilerin kelime bilgisinde artış olduğu, filmdeki duygu durumlarını yüksek oranda çözümleyebildikleri, seyrettikleri Türkçe filmdeki karakterleri çok yönlü olarak değerlendirmede ve filmdeki olay örgüsünü çözümlemede başarılı oldukları görülmüştür. Ayrıca araştırmanın örneklemini oluşturan öğrencilerin geneli, dil öğretiminde film kullanımının faydalı ve başarılı olduğu görüşündedir. Araştırmadan elde edilen veriler ışığında yabancılara Türkçe öğretiminde film kullanımın öğrencilerin anlama becerilerini geliştirdiği söylenebilir.

This study is aimed to describe the effect of film usage on the understanding ability of students in foreign language teaching. It has been applied to a sample group of 36 students from Gaziosmanpaşa University, TÖMER and Erzincan University TÖMER. In the data collection process of the research two of the five activities prepared by the researcher were designed as reading-comprehension, three listening/watching-comprehension activities. The study was conducted in one day in both of the TÖMER. There was a break as the study covered the entire course day. The practice started with pre-film events at the beginning of the course. After the pre-film activities, film was watched in class with Turkish subtitles. Only one break lasting 15 minutes was given during the film. During the film session, it was stopped by the researcher from time to time and asked students `What were up to now?` Students who wanted to comment were given the right to speak about what happened in the film. Then, the film session continued.Three different statistical analyzes were used in the analysis of data collected in the study: Rubrik in the first, (paired) samples by which SPSS for Windows 20.00 package program in the second,% analysis for the 4th and 5th events. As a result of there search, it was seen that the students were difficult to Express what they could orally expressed in written form, that the vocabulary of the students increased in vocabulary events, they could solve the emotional situations in the film at high speed, versatile evaluation of the characters in the Turkish film they watched and succeeded in analyzing the event. Morover, the sample group of research think that using film is benefical and successful in the language teaching.It can be said that theuse of film in the teaching of Turkish to foreigners in the data obtained from there search has improved the comprehension skills of the students.
