9. sınıf öğrencilerinin iş ve enerji konusundaki kavramsal anlamalarının incelenmesi

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı 9. Sınıf öğretim programında yer alan iş ve enerji konusuna dair öğrencilerin sahip oldukları kavram yanılgılarının belirlenmesi ve öğrencilerin iş ve enerji konusundaki kavramsal gelişimlerinin incelenmesidir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda 20 sorudan oluşan bir kavramsal anlama testi geliştirilmiştir. Geliştirilen bu test Balıkesir il merkezinde bulunan iki farklı okulun 9. Sınıfında öğrenim görmekte olan 171 öğrenciye ön test ve son test olarak uygulanmıştır. Öğretim öncesi ve sonrasında uygulanan kavramsal anlama testlerinin değerlendirilmesi sonucu öğrencilerin konu ile ilgili sahip oldukları kavram yanılgıları belirlenmiş, ön test ve son testlerin karşılaştırılması yoluyla öğrencilerin kavramsal gelişimleri incelenmiştir.Araştırmada elde edilen verilerin analizi nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden içerik analizi yöntemi ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Öğretim öncesinde öğrencilerin literatürde belirlenmiş birçok kavram yanılgısına benzer şekilde kavram yanılgılarına sahip oldukları tespit edilmiştir. Öğretim öncesi ve sonrasında uygulanan kavramsal anlama testlerinin karşılaştırılması, iş ve enerjiye dair bazı kavramlarda gelişme olduğunu gösterirken bazılarında ise tam olarak bir gelişme olmadığı görülmektedir.

This study aims to determine 9th grade students' misconceptions about work-energy and to examine their conceptual understandings' improvement. For this purpose, a conceptual understanding test consisting of 20 questions was developed. This test was applied as pre-test and post-test to 171 9th grade students who are studying in two different schools located in Balıkesir. Students' misconceptions about work and energy have been determined and their conceptual developments have been examined with the evaluation of the conceptual understanding test which was applied before and after teaching.The data of study was analyzed by the method of content analysis from qualitative research methods. Based on the examination of the pre-test, it has been identified that students have many misconceptions which are mentioned in the literature. Comparison of the results of conceptual understanding tests before and after teaching shows that there are improvements in some of the concepts of work and energy but it also shows that there is not a complete improvement in some of them.
