Şair ve düşünür Mehmet Akif İnan`ın Ortadoğu`ya bakışı

Abstract

`Ortadoğu` coğrafyasının dünya açısından hayati önemi ortadadır. Dünya enerji kaynaklarının merkezi olması yanında, vahiy esaslı dinlerin doğuş ve yayılış alanı olarak Ortadoğu, insanlık için hemen her dönemde önemli olmuştur. Batılılar da çok eski dönemlerden beri Ortadoğu'ya ilgi duymuşlardır. Ortadoğu kavramının da mimarı olan Batı dünyası, Sanayi Devrimi'nin ardından bu coğrafyayı bir petrol ve doğalgaz deposu olarak görmüştür. Batı âlemi, çoğunlukla çıkarları için Ortadoğu'ya yaklaşmış; Ortadoğu'yu Batı merkezci uzmanların görüşleriyle değerlendirmiştir. Bu coğrafyayı Batı'nın bir istismar alanı olmaktan çıkarmak ve bölgede yaşanan sorunların kalıcı çözümünü keşfedebilmek için, Ortadoğu'yu merkeze alan düşünürlerin varlığına ihtiyaç olduğu açıktır. Mehmet Akif İnan da, Ortadoğulu muhafazakâr bir düşünür olarak, Ortadoğu'nun sorunlarına çözüm önerileri üretmiş, bu bağlamda pek çok çalışmaya imza atmıştır. Bu tez, Türkiye'deki muhafazakâr düşünce geleneğinde önemli bir yeri olan Mehmet Akif İnan'ın Ortadoğu hakkındaki görüşlerine yoğunlaşmıştır. Çalışmada, öncelikle Türkiye'deki muhafazakâr düşüncenin gelişimi betimlenmiş, İnan'ın Ortadoğu hakkında ortaya koyduğu belli başlı sorun alanları tespit edilmiş; düşünürün bu sorun alanlarına yönelik sunduğu İslam Birliği gibi çözüm önerileri tasvir edilmiştir.

It is blatantly clear that the geographical sphere of the `Middle East` is important to the world. Being the center of world energy sources as well as the cradle and fulcrum of all wahy-centric religious traditions, this area has played a salient role in the history of human being throughout history. Thus, Westerners have been interested in the Middle East ever since. As the architect of the term `Middle East` itself, the Western world has seen the region as the depot of oil and gas especially since the time of the Industrial Revolution. Hence, the West has approached, by and large, pragmatically to the region, evaluating it through the lenses of experts who are of Western-centric agendas. In the aim to divest the region from the exploitative praxes and regularities of the West as well as to find out rudimentary solutions for various problems of it, it is obvious that the scholars and thinkers who essentially focuses on the region and its bugbears are needed. This juncture paves the way for the thesis of this study: As a conservative poet and thinker from this very region, Mehmet Akif Inan, who has a salient place in the conservative thought tradition in Turkey, has adduced various solutions to the problems of the region, producing many works for this telos. This thesis focuses on the views of Mehmet Akif Inan pertinent to the Middle East. The study follows the following tracks: Firstly, it deals with the development of conservative thinking in Turkey. Secondly, it sets forth certain major problems in the region as proposed by Inan. Lastly, it puts forth Inan's proposals of solution to the problems of the region, e.g. the Islamic Union, etc.
