Y MsC Thesis MATHEMATICAL MODELLING in MACHINE DESIGN BUKET OKUTAN Cumhuriyet University Institute of Naturel and Applied Sciences Department of Mechanical Engineering Advisor : Prof.Dr.Kozı KAZIHAN In this study, ` Bond Graph Method ` which is used for complete dynamic analysis of machines has been explained and applications in different engineering disciplines have been demonstrated. This method is quite new for Turkey and by this method effective solutions of problems in machines design can be generated. The method bridges the gap between automatic control and the parts of engineering science where power and efficiency have great importance. The method is suitable to display by symbols. At the same time, it is convenient to simulate and making calculation by the hand or the computers. Bond graphs consist of signs, lines and simple symbols and they display the energy and the signal exchanges at systems. Thus, it also helps to interperate of many basic effects.VI This method was invented by Heniy Paynter of M.I.T in 1960 ' s. Further development was made by Kamopp D., and Rosenberg R. from the universities of California and Michigan respectively. In addition, the method was used in machine design and modelling by Kozı Kazınan at Kazakh National Technical University. KEY WORDS: Bond Graphs Mathematical Modelling System Dynamicsen_US
