Abstract

Western Thrace Turks that had remained as a minority outside our borders byLausanne agreement, in this new period, although their problems are still continuing,they felt safe and confidence until the 1950 with the rights that Lausanne agreementprovided and effective Turkish foreign diplomacy and so they considered Turkey astheir biggest guarantor state.But later afterwards, Turks in Western Thrace have been exposed to pressuresin many area spiritual and material ways, dealing with Greece's home politics anddevelopments on foreign diplomacy according to Cyprus issue between Turkey andGreece.Western Thrace Turkish minority that have so many problems such asdiplomatic, social, cultural and economical for'a long time are expecting solutions totheir problems which should be guaranteed by the commitments between Greece andTurkey and respected their rights by the commitments of Greece as an EuropeanUnion country. Nevertheless, Western Thrace Turks should not forget that they needto be these commitment's guardian and they all are putting into practice.
