Michel Faber`in Günahkar Kırmızı Masum Beyaz adlı eserinde kadın kimliği

Abstract

Çağdaş bir tür olan Neo-Viktoryen edebiyat, Viktorya dönemine yönelik bilinçli, eleştirel bir bakış olarak kabul edilmektedir. Bu çalışmada önemli bir Neo-Viktoryen yazar olan Michel Faber'in Günahkâr Kırmızı Masum Beyaz adlı eserindeki kadın kimliği incelenmektedir. Çalışmamız bir giriş bölümü, dört ana bölüm ve sonuçtan oluşmaktadır. Giriş bölümünde Viktorya çağı romanı genel hatlarıyla ele alınmıştır. İlk bölümde, NeoViktoryen roman ve bu roman türündeki tekrarlanan tema ve motifler detaylı şekilde incelenmiştir. Bu eserdeki kadın kimlikleri Üçüncü Dalga Feminizm tekniğiyle inceleneceği için, ikinci bölümde Feminist akımlara değinilmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde ise Neo-Viktoryen romanda feminizm temaları ele alınmıştır. Tezin son bölümünde Michel Faber'in Günahkâr Kırmızı Masum Beyaz adlı eserindeki kadın karakterler, Sugar, Agnes, Sophie, Emmeline Fox ve Bayan Castaway'e yoğunlaşılarak, Neo-Viktoryen kurgu ve Üçüncü Dalgadaki cinsiyet meseleleri incelenmektedir.

As a contemporary literary genre, Neo-Victorian fiction is regarded as a conscious and critical approach to Victorian Age. This study is intended to examine woman identities in The Crimson Petal and The White by Michel Faber, who is a significant Neo-Victorian novelist of our age. This study consists of an introduction, four main chapters and a conclusion. In the first chapter, Neo-Victorian novel and the recurring themes and motifs of this genre are discussed in detail. Since the female identities in this work will be examined through Third Wave Feminism, feminist movements are mentioned in the second part. In the third chapter, feminist issues and themes in Neo-Victorian fiction are studied. The final chapter of the thesis focuses on the female characters in Michel Faber's The Crimson Petal And The White, Sugar, Agnes, Sophie, Emmeline Fox and Mrs. Castaway, and examines the Neo-Victorian fiction and gender issues in the Third Wave Feminism
