Yaşlılara verilen hemşirelik hizmetinin yaşam kalitesine etkisinin incelenmesi

Abstract

ABSTRACT The Role of Nursing Care, Provided in Private Homes, on the Quality of Life of the Elderly Pakize Durmaz This study has been planned as an experimental research for analysing the affect of nursing care, provided in private homes, on the quality of life of the elderly. In this research, 43 elderly at experimental group and 46 elderly at control group, 89 elderly have been monitored and analysed. The experimental group has been analysed for six months by home visits. The control group was analysed for three times by home visits. At these home visits, health promotion has been told to the elderly and blood sugar, tansion levels, fat and cholesterol of the eldery have been monitored and analysed. The quality of life is measured at the beginning and at the end of the research. The datas of the research have been collected by the Social- Demography Form, which is prepared by the researcher, and the MOS 36 Item Short Form Health Survey, whose reliability has been analysed by Aydemir. For analysing the quality of life of the experimental and control group during the research, t-test has been used. In addition, t-test and ki-kare analyses have been used for evaluating the similiraties of the groups and outcomes. In these analyses, the Physical Health (PCS) mean scores of the elderly in the experimental group found higher significiantly than the PCS mean scores of the elderly in the control group (p<0.05). Between Mental Health ( MCS) mean scores, no difference have been found in the control group and experimental group (p>0.05). Between the BKI (body mass index) of the elderly no difference have been seen in the experimental group during the home visits. However, BKI of the elderly have incresased in the control group (p<0.05). Between the blood pressure of elderly, before and after the nursing care, have found no difference in the control group and found difference significiantly in the experimental group (p<0.05).The blood pressure of elderly in the experimenatl group have decreased. Between the cholosterol and blood sugar of elderly, before and after the nursing care, have found difference significiantly in the control group and in the experimental group (p<0.05).Tetanos immuniaztions, drug use and nutrition of the elderly, who taken the cares, have increased Finally, it can be said that; nursing care provided at private homes have affects to the protecting and increasing the quality of life of elderly.
