XIX. ve XX. Yüzyıl Arap Edebiyatında tarihi roman: Mısır, Suriye, Lübnan örneği

Abstract

Tarih modern dönem ile birlikte toplumlar ve milletler arasında yükselen bir ivme kazanmıştır. Özellikle Fransız ihtilaliyle birlikte ortaya çıkan özgür düşünce hareketiyle insanlar kendilerini ve medeniyetlerini daha yakından tanıma fırsatı elde etmişlerdir. Bu bilinç doğrultusunda tarihe yönelik eğilimin ve yoğunlaşmanın artışı tarihi romana zemin hazırlamıştır. Tarihi roman önce Batı edebiyatında görülmeye başlamış, daha sonra Arap yazarların Batıyla temasa geçmesi ve buradaki yazarların eserlerinden yapılan çevirilerle birlikte Arap dünyasında tanınmıştır. İlk olarak Mısır'da doğup gelişen bu tür daha sonra Suriye ve Lübnan'da kendini göstermiştir. Bu ülkeler diğer Arap ülkelerine de esin kaynağı olmuşlardır. Bu çalışmada modern Arap edebiyatında önemli bir yer edinmiş olan tarihi roman türünün ortaya çıkışında ve yayılışında etkili olan siyasi, sosyal ve kültürel durumlara; bu türün özelliklerine, çeşitlerine ve yazılış nedenlerine değinildikten sonra tarihi romanın Mısır, Suriye ve Lübnan'daki öncü yazarlarına ve eserlerine yer verilmiştir.

With the modern period, history has seen a rising momentum between societies and nations. Especially with the free thought movement that emerged with the French revolution, people had the opportunity to get to know themselves and their civilization more closely. In line with this consciousness, the increasing tendency and concentration towards history has laid the groundwork for the historical novel.The historical novel first began to appear in Western literature, and later became known in the Arab world through the contact of Arab writers with the West and translations from the works of the authors there. This type of literature which first appeared and developed in Egypt manifested itself in Syria and Lebanon. These countries have inspired other Arab countries as well.In this study, after the political, social and cultural situations that were influential in the emergence and spread of the historical novel genre, which has an important place in modern Arabic literature, and the characteristics, varieties and writing reasons of this genre are discussed, the works of the leading authors of the historical novel in Egypt, Syria, Lebanon and the author themselves are dealt with.
