Protest bir tavır olarak otoportre

Abstract

Fotoğraf sanatının estetik ifade biçimlerinden biri olan otoportre geleneği, sanatçılar tarafından bilinçli olarak protest bir söyleme dönüştürülebilmektedir. `Protest Bir Tavır Olarak Otoportre` isimli tezde; öncelikle portre ve otoportre kavramları irdelenmiş, sanatçının otoportre üretme nedenleri üzerinde durulmuştur. Protest tavır tarihçesi ile detaylı bir şekilde tanımlanmış ve sanatla olan ilişkisi belirlenmiştir. Otoportre geleneğinin estetik ve biçimsel olarak geçirdiği evreleri ortaya koymak adına, fotoğrafın icadından günümüze kadar olan süreç içerisinde geçirdiği değişimler, Modernizm ve Post-modernizm çerçevesinde, sanatta ilk protest tavrın gözlendiği Dada akımından itibaren ele alınmıştır. Protest tavrın Modernizm sürecindeki yeri ve Post-modernizm sürecinde toplumsal değişimle geldiği nokta, bu dönemlerde otoportre fotoğraflarıyla öne çıkan sanatçıların eserleri karşılaştırılarak tartışılmıştır.Bütün bu araştırmaların ve saptamaların sonunda, otoportre geleneğinin Modernizm dönemi içerisindeki tavrının, deneyselliğe dayalı olarak klasik estetiği protesto ettiği saptanmıştır. Post-modernizm sürecinde bu geleneğin içerikle ön plana çıktığı ve tekniğin estetiğe dönüştürülmesinden çok politik söylemlerin var olduğu ortaya konulmuştur.Türkçe Anahtar Kelimeler: 1-Sanat 2-Otoportre 3- Fotoğraf 4- Protest 5-Kimlik

The self-portrait tradition which is one of the forms of aesthetic expression in the art of photography, can be deliberately converted by artists into a statement of protest. In this thesis titled `Self-Portrait as An Attitude of Protest`, the concepts of portraits and self-portraits have been examined, and the reasons for the artist's production of self-portraits have been focused on.The protest attitude has been defined with its detailed history and its relationship with art. In order to reveal the aesthetic and structural stages of the self portrait tradition, the changes in photography since its invention have been determined. This focus covers the period since the Dada movement in which the first protest photographs occurred, in the light of the Modernism and Post-modernism movement. The position of the protest attitude in Modernism, as well as the point which it reached during the process of Post-modernism as a result of social change, have been discussed by comparing the works of prominent artists between these periods.As a result of the research and findings, it has been determined that the self-portrait tradition within the Modernist period protested classic aesthetics, based on experimentation. It was found that in the Post-modernist period, this tradition was reflected primarily in content and, rather than technique being transformed into aesthetics, that political rhetoric was prevalent.İngilizce Anahtar Kelimeler:1- Art2- Self Portrait3- Photography4-Protest5-Identity
