19. yüzyıldan günümüze sanayi yapılarının modernleşme süreci bağlamında irdelenmesi: Otomobil yerleşkeleri

Abstract

Sanayi devriminden sonra ortaya çıkan sanayileşme ve modernleşme süreçleri, tüm yaşam boyutlarında önemli değişimlere neden olmuştur. Bu süreçlerin mekansal yansımaları kentleşme sürecinde ve sanayi yapılarında etkin bir biçimde görülmektedir. Özellikle sanayi devriminden sonra ortaya çıkan makineleşme ve seri üretim mantığı, standartlaşmış, rasyonel ve fonksiyonel üretim mekanlarının biçimlenmesinde etkili olmuştur. Ancak sanayi mekanlarındaki biçimleniş, sadece teknolojik ilerlemeler ve makineleşme süreci ile ilgili değildir. Söz konusu mekanların gelişiminde ekonomik, kültürel ve siyasal alanlardaki değişimler de etkili olmuştur. Modernleşme ve sanayileşme süreçlerinin mekansal yansımalarını en iyi biçimde aktaran otomobil yerleşkeleri, XX. yüzyılın sanayi yapılarının biçimlenişine damga vurmuştur. XX. yüzyılın ilk yıllarından itibaren otomobil yerleşkelerinin biçimlenişi, dönemin teknolojik, ekonomik ve sosyo-kültürel gelişmelerini etkin bir biçimde yansıtmaktadır. Bu tez çalışmasında modernleşme ve sanayileşme süreçlerinin mekansal yansımaları XX. yüzyıldan günümüze dek otomobil yerleşkeleri üzerinden okumaya çalışılmıştır. Çalışmada ele alınan örnekler, modernleşme ve sanayileşme süreçlerinin merkez ülkeleri olarak bilinen ve aynı zamanda otomobil üretiminde dünya ölçeğinde önemli yere sahip olan, Batı Avrupa ve Amerika ülkeleri arasından seçilmiştir. Çalışmada söz konusu süreçlerin izleri kavramsal ve dönemsel özellikler ışıgında irdelenmiştir. Sonuç olarak otomobil yerleşkelerindeki gelişmeler, XX. yüzyıldan günümüze dek modernleşme ve sanayileşem süreçlerinin gelişmelerini büyük ölçüde yansıtıldığı görülmüştür.

The industrialization and modernization processes which occured after the industrial revolution, have led to significant changes in all aspects of life. The spatial aspects of these processes are seen as an effective manner in the process of urbanization and industrial buildings. Especially the mechanization and mass production logic that emerged after the industrial revolution, has been influential in shaping standardized, rational and functional production venues. However, formation of industrial sites is not just affected from technological advances and mechanization process. The development of these areas were also under the effect of economic, cultural and political changes.The automobile complexes which transfer spatial reflection of the modernization process and industrialization in the best way, were marked by the formation of the industrial structure in the 20th century. From the early years of the 20th century till now, the formation of the automobile complexes reflects the technological, economic and socio-cultural development of the century in an effective manner.The study aims at determining the effects of the spatial implications of modernization and industrialization process on automobile complexes from the beginning of the 20th century until now. The samples used in this study were chosen from Western European and American countries known as the center of modernization and industrialization process and at the same time having a significant position in the worldwide car production. In this study traces of these processes discussed in the conceptual and periodical properties. As a result, it can be concluded that the development of the automobile complexes from the 20th century until the present, largely reflects the development processes of modernization and industrialization.
