Hastanede yatan hastaların uyku ile ilgili sorunları ve hemşirelerin bu soruna ilişkin tutumları

Abstract

VI ÖZET Hastanede Yatan Hastaların Uyku ile İlgili Sorunları ve Hemşirelerin Bu Soruna İlişkin Tutumları Bu çalışma Erzurum ili Atatürk Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Yakutiye Araştırma ve Uygulama Hastanesi'nde yatan hastaların uyku sorunlarını, bu sorunları olumsuz yönde etkileyen faktörleri ve hemşirelerin bu soruna yönelik tutumlarını belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneğini dahili ve cerrahi kliniklerde yatan toplam 470 hasta ile bu birimlerde çalışan 1 10 hemşire oluşturmuştur. Araştırma sonucunda hastanede yatan hastaların büyük bir çoğunluğunun (%71.9) uyku sorunu yaşadığı, uykuyu olumsuz yönde etkileyen faktörler arasında; ağrının birinci sırada (%81.4), stres ve anksiyetenin ikinci sırada (%73.7), gürültünün ise üçüncü sırada (%71.1) yer aldığı belirlenmiştir. Gürültü çeşitleri incelendiğinde diğer hastaların çıkardığı ses, telefon sesi ve çalışan personelin sesi ilk sıralarda yer almıştır. Uyku sorununun cinsiyetle ilişkisi incelendiğinde erkek hastaların kadın hastalardan daha çok uyku sorunu yaşadığı, ancak sorunun eğitim, yaş, daha önce hastanede yatma deneyimi, dahili ve cerrahi kliniklerde yatma durumu ve hastalığı hakkında bilgi sahibi olup olmama durumu ile ilişkisi olmadığı saptanmıştır. Bununla birlikte hastaların odasını paylaştığı birey sayısı arttıkça daha çok uyku sorunu yaşadıkları belirlenmiştir. Hastaların hastanede daha iyi uyumak için önerileri sorulduğunda; öncelikle gürültü faktörünün kontrolünün sağlanmasını istedikleri dikkati çekmiştir. Hemşirelerin büyük bir çoğunluğunun hastalarının uyku sorununu araştırdığı, ancak yine büyük bir çoğunluğunun sorunu çözmede yetersiz olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır.

vn SUMMARY The sleep-concerning problems of hospitalized patients and the attitudes of Nurses about this matter This study was carried out in Yakutiye Research Hospital, Atatürk University, Erzurum, to find out the sleep-concerning problems of hospitalized patients, factors having negative effects on the reactions of patients towards this matter. Four hundred and seventy patients and 110 nurses in internal medicine and general surgery departments were included in this study. The results proved that the majority of the patients in hospital (71.9 %) expressed sleeping problems; and among the negative factors affecting sleep, pain was the first one (81.4 %), stress and anxiety were the second (73.7 %), and noise was the third (71.1 %). Of the types of noise, ringing of the phone, noise made by other patients and by the working personnel were among the primary causes. When we studied the relation of sleeping problems with sex, it was observed that male patients expressed more sleeping problems than female patients, but there was no significant difference between the patients with different education, age, previous hospitalization, in internal medicine or general surgery departments; no significant difference was observed between patients having information about their illness and those having no information et all. However, the extent of sleeping problem increased with the increase in the number of patients staying in the same room. When the patients were asked about solution proposals for decreasing the extent of their sleeping problems, their first offer was to control the noise factor, which attracted our interest. We also found out that the majority of the nurses had been deply concerned with this problem of patients, and that they had not been able to overcome this problem completely.
