dc.description.abstract8-SUMMARY BACTERIOLOGIC ANALİZE OF DRINKING WATERS IN PROVINCE AND TOWN CENTERS OF SIVAS In this study 1563 water samples were examined bacteriologically to determine microbial quality of network and spring water in provincial and town centers of Sivas. The multiple tube method was used in the study. Total coliform bacteria were found in 432 samples (&27.6) and in 198 of these samples (X12.6) fecal coliform bacteria were determined. % 31.3 total and % 9.6 fecal coliform bacteria in 217 spring water samples in the provincial center were determined. % 39.5 total and % 25.1 fecal coliform bacteria in 334 spring water samples in town centers were determined. % 16.9 total and % 6.4 fecal coliform bacteria in 703 network water samples of the provincial center and also % 36.5 total and % 15.5 fecal coliform bacteria in 309 network water samples of the town centers were determined. In the study E.coli was the mostly isolated bacterium (8 59.0) and Citrobacter was the least one among all isolated bacteria Ç% 1.8) Network waters and spring waters were more polluted in town centers than provincial center. 43en_US
