Abstract

SUMMARY In this study, the relation between anxiety as a visual perception process and Stereo-kinetic Depth Perception (SKDP) has been experimentally observed. Application of Taylor's Manifest Anxiety Scale to 292 first-year students in Ağrı Training College in the Academic year of 1989-1990 proved that tehere were 52 subject whose level of anxiety was low. These subjects were divided into four categories with respect to their grades of the scale as `with high anxiety level`,' with low anxiety level` and with respect to their sexes as `women` and `men`. In this study, taking into account the fact that there could be some differentiation in the SKDP of the subjects who were separated In the hypotheses that those with a high level of anxiety perceive SKDP quicker, the effect of sexes is not so Important, and an Increase in cartoon stimuli will Increase SKDP has been tested. The response of the subjects to the appearance of the circles drawn on round cartoon stimuli through the mirror over one another was noted. In these notes, the response of the subjects to four cartoon stimuli in 2 minutes presentation was changing into findings which present changing number and changing time `t` importance test way applied to these findings. The findings In the analyses of the data showed that `there is a relation between the level of anxiety and visual perceptions, those with a higher level of anxiety perceive SKDP more and earlies sex and stimuli contents are Important In perception.
